The "Family History Library" of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Salt Lake City, UT, USA - Report from my visit / p. 2  
In front of the Temple there was a continuous line of picture-taking apointments at the time of my visit (below). There is a lot of marrying going on in Salt Lake City right now!

Close by is also this administrative palace, which is modestly called the "office building" (right). My camera failed in the attempt to get the entire building on my memory chip.

In the Mormon faith the connection to one's own family members, living or dead, plays an important role. Thus family history research is a firm tenet of their religion. How seriously this is taken is shown by the establishment of over 3400 family history centers worldwide. Their main hub was the destination of my side trip to Utah. It borders on Temple Square and looks rather plain from the outside (bottom right).
